To cite a clinical study, hemoglobin A1c levels were tested between a placebo group and a treatment group taking 1500 mg glucosamine and 1200 mg chondroitin, and there was no significant difference between the two groups [Arch. Int. Med. 2003, 163 (13) 1587-90]. And, I personally know diabetes mellitus patients who are taking both anti-diabetic drugs and glucosamine/chondroitin with no untoward effect on blood sugar.
